Back In Time Collectibles

Back In Time Collectibles is a toy and collectibles shop at 194 S South St in Gastonia, North Carolina. The store deals in the toys, games and collectibles people had and loved as kids, and the owners track down particular items to stock the shelves. It suits adult collectors chasing childhood favorites more than anyone looking for a weekly tournament room.

What's on the shelves

The stock is built around nostalgia: toys, games and collectibles from childhood, including figures. The store goes out of its way to source items that are hard to find, so the mix leans toward specific pieces people remember rather than whatever is newest. Customers who bring in items to trade get an estimate and help locating what they came in for. Collectors who have sold or traded figures there describe being offered fair prices, and the shop is built around the owner's own history as a collector.

Policies

All sales are final, and the store does not offer refunds because of the collectible nature of the items. If there is a problem with a purchase, an exchange is possible at the owner's discretion. Questions about how the store operates are welcome before you buy.

History

The store opened in 2020. The owner began collecting seriously in 1996 and decided early on that a store of his own was the goal. After retiring early from the military, he went back to school to finish a business degree, and he brings more than 20 years of retail management experience to the counter. He planned to open in 2020, and when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the family decided to open anyway. The owner is a United States veteran and a college graduate.
