Arkham Games & Comics

Arkham Games & Comics is a trading card and tabletop game store at 1121 E Shotwell St in Bainbridge, Georgia. It is built around Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!, with a dedicated role-playing room, console game time and a Friday family game night alongside the card shelves. It suits players who want one stop for cards, miniatures and board games, and families looking for a weekly night out.

What's on the shelves

Trading card games are the focus. The store stocks Magic: The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! singles, along with sealed product in the form of Magic booster boxes, booster packs, theme decks and Planeswalker decks, Yu-Gi-Oh! booster packs and special edition packs, and Pokemon booster packs, including Japanese-language booster packs. Pokemon singles are carried too. The store runs a buy list and takes cards from people looking to sell.

Accessories cover the usual needs: deck boxes, card sleeves, playmats and playmat tubes, dice and counters, albums and protective pages, sorting trays and gaming bags.

The tabletop side is broad. Miniatures include Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures, Pathfinder Deep Cuts Minis, Wyrdscapes and Wardlings, with single figures from Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures and Pathfinder Battles typically priced at $5.99. Role-playing product covers Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Call of Cthulhu, with dice sets and miniature accessories to match. Vallejo paints and brushes serve the painting crowd. Board games range from adult titles like Wyrmspan and Finspan to lighter family games such as Poetry for Neanderthals and the 5 Minute Dungeon series. Funko Pops, action figures and comics supplies (storage boxes, boards and bags) round out the shelves.

Weekly play

Each week features three different games, and drinks and snacks are available for purchase.

Events and other ways to play

Card tournaments run weekly in popular formats such as Modern, Standard and Commander. When the store hosted a Magic: The Gathering Bloomburrow Store Championship in September, entry was $10 for Standard play. Every entrant received a Monastery Swiftspear promo while supplies lasted, the top eight earned a Shark Typhoon promo, and first place took home an Urza's Saga promo, with store credit and door prizes handed out at the end.

Outside the card tables, the store has a fully outfitted room for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and other role-playing games. Game time on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo consoles comes with weekly tournaments for titles like Super Smash Bros. and Street Fighter, and virtual reality games are available as well.

Store policies

Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused, in their original packaging and in the condition they were received, and a receipt or proof of purchase is required. Returns carry a 10% restocking fee, sale items cannot be refunded, and exchanges are limited to defective or damaged goods. Customers pay return shipping, and that cost is deducted from any refund.
