What is Pre-Grade?
Pre-Grade reads two photos of a raw card, front and back, measures its centering, corners and edges, and estimates the odds of each grade at PSA, CGC, BGS and TAG. It then weighs those odds against today’s prices to say whether grading beats selling the card raw.
Is a pre-grade a real grade?
No. It is an estimate from your own photos. A grading company grades the physical card, and surface flaws, print lines and other things a scan cannot show can move the result, so every report shows a range rather than a promise.
Should I use a flatbed scanner or my phone?
A flatbed scan gives the most accurate measurements because the card lies flat at a known scale. A phone photo works too, and the report says when the angle or light limits what it can measure.
