Variants drive the size of the CS5aC master set, a Simplified Chinese Pokémon TCG release from the Sword & Shield era, dated June 18, 2024. The set holds 176 cards, but completing it takes 275 slots, an average of 1.6 slots per card. Reverse holos account for 99 of those slots, holos for 91 and normal prints for 85. Laid out nine to a side, the full master set checklist fills 16 double-sided binder pages.
Only three variant families make up the CS5aC master set: Reverse Holo, Holo and Normal. Reverse holos are where the extra slots come from, since commons, uncommons and rares each get a reverse holo version alongside the standard print. A reverse holo carries the foil pattern across the card body rather than only the artwork box, and each one is its own binder slot, separate from the normal copy. The holo family covers the cards that print only in foil. The set has no stamped or edition families, so the master set is completed by finish alone.
| Variant family | Slots | Priced | Share of value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reverse Holo | 99 | 0 | — |
| Holo | 91 | 33 | 98% |
| Normal | 85 | 1 | 2.3% |

Shares of the master set’s priced value, from the slot prices in the checklist above.
At 275 slots, the CS5aC master set is about equal to the Sword & Shield era median of 280, so it is a typical-sized job for its period. By master set value it ranks 6th among the 15 comparable sets in the era. The neighbouring releases are much smaller: CS4.5C comes to 90 slots and its master set holds lower value, while CS5.5C has 95 slots. Set against those two, the CS5aC master set is a far bigger binder project, though its checklist is ordinary by era standards.
A CS5aC (勇魅群星 魅) master set is one copy of every card AND every variant in the set — the 176 cards on this page, with their Normal, Reverse Holo and Holo prints each listed and priced on their own. Sign in and the checklist tracks what you own, in step with the Cardboard Alpha app.
The large NM-only figure is a complete catalog estimate when every printing has current NM pricing. LP, MP, HP, and DMG “and up” totals below it use the requested condition or a better available condition. These are summed reference prices, not a quote from one seller; a dash means the current market does not cover every printing yet.
“LP and up” means lightly played or better: the total uses LP when available, then NM as the better-condition fallback. The MP, HP, and DMG tiers follow the same pattern.
