# Mudkip #XY38 — XY Black Star Promos

## Summary

Mudkip is one of the great Hoenn starters, with a devoted following built on its ORAS-era revival and the internet's enduring affection for the little mudfish. As a promo it was never a chase slot, so demand comes from Aya Kusube's name and from Hoenn loyalists. At a $13 modelled guide, with 6 copies traded in 30 days, 24% of this printing’s price is collector premium, since the same card plays for $10 out of MEP Black Star Promos; the slab is the real edge, with PSA 10s at $172 and a 4% observed gem rate putting about $2,100 of expected profit per submission.
