# Absol #XY178 — XY Black Star Promos

## Summary

Absol has long been a fan favorite among Hoenn Darkness types, its disaster-sensing lore giving it a sympathetic edge few Pokémon share. Lamentation made it an annoying wall for opponents, and as an XY Black Star promo it was an event-style pickup, not a pack pull. At a $70 modelled guide, with 12 copies traded in 30 days, this printing is almost entirely collector premium, since the same card plays for $0.14 out of Phantasmal Flames; PSA has slabbed 79 of these and only 1 is a 10, a 1% gem rate that makes the raw-to-gem gap the entire trade.
