# Kangaskhan #26/130 — Base Set 2

## Summary

Kangaskhan was a Gen I favorite long before Mega evolutions made her a poster child, and Mitsuhiro Arita is the illustrator most WOTC-era collectors associate with the original Base Set look. Inside Base Set 2 this was a mid-tier rare, playable at the time but never a chase slot. At a $4.52 modelled guide, up 1% over 30 days on 36 copies traded, with 1,727 days of inventory sitting on the board, this printing is almost entirely collector premium, since the same card plays for $0.12 out of Destined Rivals; a PSA 10 brings $96, 21 times raw, but a 24% gem rate against $85 of fees makes grading a losing trade.
