# Butterfree #34/130 — Base Set 2

## Summary

Butterfree is a Kanto Bug-type with a steady fan following, and Base Set 2 is a reprint-heavy set that mostly drew nostalgic buyers, so this uncommon is a mid-tier pull. Kagemaru Himeno is one of the original Pokémon card illustrators, and his Wizards-era work carries a built-in appeal for completionists. At a $2.16 modelled guide, up 54% over 30 days on 50 copies traded, with 2,152 days of inventory sitting on the board, 90% of this printing’s price is collector premium, since the same card plays for $0.22 out of Journey Together; a PSA 10 brings $175, 81 times raw, but a 30% gem rate against $85 of fees makes grading a losing trade.
