# Blastoise #2/130 — Base Set 2

## Summary

Blastoise is the Kanto starter many fans picked first, and Rain Dance made it the engine of Water decks in the Wizards era, a Pokémon Power that rewarded building around it. Ken Sugimori, who designed the original creatures, drew this printing, and this Base Set 2 version is the quieter rare behind the first-edition frenzy. The modelled guide sits at $152, down 2% over 30 days on 119 copies traded, with only 8 days of inventory on the board; PSA has slabbed 12,089 of these and only 61 are 10s, a 0.5% gem rate that makes the raw-to-gem gap the entire trade, with original packs long past any pull-rate math.
