# Alakazam #1/130 — Base Set 2

## Summary

Alakazam is a Kanto favorite whose psychic reputation never faded, and Damage Swap made it a genuine tournament engine in the early WOTC years, letting players shuffle damage counters out of harm's way. Ken Sugimori drew it, and as a holo rare in a reprint set it draws steady nostalgia demand. At a $54 modelled guide, down 3% over 30 days on 88 copies traded, with 284 days of inventory on the board, this printing is almost entirely collector premium, since the same card plays for $0.24 out of Twilight Masquerade; PSA has slabbed 5,223 of these and only 70 are 10s, a 1% gem rate that makes the raw-to-gem gap the entire trade.
