# Crushing Hammer (Japanese) #035 — XY Beginning Set

## Summary

Japan's Crushing Hammer arrived in November 2013 inside the Japanese XY Beginning Set, the Kalos Starter Set's counterpart, with the English edition carrying a matching release date. The card shows a red and black mallet against a bright green burst of radiating light, a simple Item that flips a coin to discard one Energy from an opposing Pokémon. Its starter-deck origin makes it a modest pull, though the early-XY era's disruption style keeps a loyal following among players.
