# Professor's Research (Japanese) #003 — S8a: 25th Anniversary Collection

## Summary

Professor Oak has been the series' first mentor since 1996, so a Japanese Professor's Research carrying his own portrait is an easy sell to nostalgic players. The 25th Anniversary Collection release came in October 2021, with Oak at a cluttered desk in a pale lab coat, red pen in hand, papers and bookshelves behind him. Its draw-seven effect has been a deck staple for years, but this slot is bulk-tier, so demand rests on affection for Oak. A $0.38 modelled guide with no copies traded in 30 days says bulk, and the economics stop there: no PSA population is on file, and a PSA 10 would fetch about $23 against $65 in grading fees, so the only money in this card is finishing a set, not a slab.
