# Lapras ex (Japanese) #001 — Mudkip Constructed Starter Deck

## Summary

Japan's Lapras ex arrived as the lead card of a Mudkip starter deck in January 2003, months before the English Ruby & Sapphire set carried the same Lapras ex in July. That puts this Japanese edition among the earliest printings of the first ex cards. The Pokémon sits in deep blue against a glittering, snow-flecked holo background, and fans have long loved Lapras as the gentle ferry of the sea. The sold median sits at $45 with 8 copies traded in 30 days, with only 10 days of inventory on the board; PSA has slabbed 120 of these and 46 are 10s, a 38% gem rate, but no graded market has formed to price the slab.
