# Blastoise (Japanese) #p575602 — Expansion Pack

## Summary

Japanese collectors had Blastoise in October 1996, more than two years before the English Base Set carried the same card in January 1999, and the Japanese Expansion Pack is where that history starts. The holo rare shows the shelled Water-type standing in a confident pose against a speckled green holo backdrop, cannons raised over its shoulders. As a holo rare in the very first Japanese set, it sits in the chase tier that made the starters the heart of the hobby. The modelled guide sits at $152, down 15% over 30 days on 2 copies traded, with 91 days of inventory on the board; no PSA population is on file.
